Vegas Poker Pro Wins WSOP Circuit in San Digeo

poker series

A poker pro from Las Vegas, Bryan Devonshire, took home the top prize in San Diego. The prize was $114,000 in the World Series of Poker circuit event at the Harrah’s Rincon. Devonshire has been playing World Series of Poker-related events since 2003 and has cashed in six times, which is not a bad formula for winning at all. The first two times in Devonshire’s career that he took home cash he finsihed in second place both times. Devonshire has won over $1 million in live poker tournaments but had never won a World Series of Poker event until he finished first in 2010 at the Harrah’s Rincon in San Diego for $114,000.

Devonshire won the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event Championship after defeating a large pool of players. Devonshire was awarded a prize pot of $114,975, a gold and diamond ring, and a $10,000 seat in the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas. The circuit event at Harrah’s Rincon took two days to play and had 70 entrants at the onset. Every single player except for the final nine were eliminated on day one of play at the casino.

The chip leader at the final table when play began was Wei Kai Chang, who was the runner up at the 2006 World Series of Poker Circuit Championship at Harrah’s Rincon. Chang was not at the final table too long despite entering with the chip lead as he finished ninth in the tournament. Two former World Series of Poker bracelet winners were at the final table with the eventual winner Devonshire and Chang. Those two were Dan Schreiber and Howard ‘Tahoe’ Andrew. The final table of nine also included a former World Series of Poker ring winner by the name of Daniel Burke.

Devonshire never had the chip lead until the very end of the tournament even though he entered the table in second place. He defeated the tournament’s runner up, Schreiber, to finally take over the chip lead. Devonshire is only the sixth champion at Harrah’s Rincon, joining the previous winners listed below:

2005 – Chris “Jesus” Ferguson
2006 – Darrell Dicken
2007 – Peter Feldman
2008 – Mike Pickett
2009 – Dwyte Pilgrim

The entire list of World Series of Poker Circuit Event stops include Chicago, Southern Indiana, Lake Tahoe, Harrah’s Atlantic City, Tunica, Council Bluffs, Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s St. Louis, Caesars Atlantic City (again) and Harrah’s New Orleans.
