Even though many consider this game to be the most recognized casino game in the world, many gamblers will steer clear of the game because of its rules and the intricacies of the game itself. The main objective when playing blackjack is to acquire 21 points without going over 21. The person playing blackjack can only win the game by beating the dealer’s hand.

The first tip is to always play another card if your first two cards equal 11 or less but always remember that no matter what card the dealer is showing, be wary that he or she could be hiding a 10. The danger zone in blackjack is if your cards total anywhere from 12 to 16. You should not draw another card from the dealer unless you have seen what the dealer is showing at the time.
Should the dealer have any card showing between 7 and an ace you should keep drawing until you move over 16. Never draw another card if the dealer has a range of cards from 2 to 6. There is an exception to this rule though and that is if you have a 12 and the dealer is showing a 2 or a 3. At this point you should draw just one more card and then hold there. Of course, the most important tip here is to never draw another card when you have cards ranging from 17 to 20, except if you have a soft 17 or 18 in your hand. What is a soft 17 or 18? A soft 17 or 18 is when your hand contains an Ace or a 6 or 7 card. Should you have a soft hand, draw another card only if the dealer is showing a card ranging from 9 to an Ace.
The most important thing to remember is that you are playing blackjack in an effort to beat the dealer. This means that you must bet that you can beat the dealer, not bet that the dealer will beat you.
