The PokerStars Team Online has added one of the leading instructors of poker to its lineup from DragTheBar.com. The instructor, Dusty ‘Leatherass” Schmidt, joins an elite group of players including Thomas Boekhoff, Grayson Physioc, Randy Lew and Steve Jacobs. Schmidt, who plays as Leatherass9 on PokerStars, had the following to say about the announcement:

“I feel like I’ve joined the Yankees. Getting the opportunity to represent the largest poker room in the world is definitely something that makes all of the hard work feel worthwhile. I couldn’t be more honored.”

During a brief five year career, Schmidt has earned over $3 million on the felt tables, logging over 8 million $10/$20 No Limit. Schmidt won over $600,000 over a four month period from November of 2007 to February of 2008 while playing high stakes cash games. Schmidt has never suffered a losing month in his career to date. When he was playing high stakes cash games in 2007 Schmidt was able to attain PokerStars’ Supernova Elite status after playing for a mere eight months.

Schmidt is only 28 years old and is considered a poker phenom amongst his peers and his elders. Schmidt joined DragTheBar.com as a poker coach, making instructional videos, in the month of January. He previously spent three years as an instructor at StoxPoker. Schmidt is also a columnist for CardPlayer Magazine and has released a book called “Treat Your Poker Like a Business.” Drag the Bar CEO Hunter Bick, who founded the site only a couple of months ago, had the following to say about Schmidt:
